Tomris Cesuroglu is PDPC’s new Scientific Secretary
Since March 2024, Dr. Tomris Cesuroglu, MD PhD, has joined the PDPC as the new Scientific Secretary. In this role, Tomris will focus on synthesizing knowledge to translate the research and experiences accumulated at the PDPC into tangible societal impact.
Tomris is a trained physician from Turkey with over two decades of experience in health systems, policy, and innovation across Turkey, the Netherlands, and Europe. Throughout her career, she has extensively worked across sectors and disciplines to address major societal challenges through scientific advancements. These include health system reforms, public health genomics, personalized medicine, the integration of innovations into health systems, the transformation of research and innovation systems, food system transformation, and responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. She is well-versed in applying systems approaches and transformative research methods, including transdisciplinary research.
Before joining PDPC, Tomris served as a senior researcher at the National Coordination Centre for Communicable Disease Control (LCI) at RIVM, where she contributed to pandemic preparedness by evaluating and enhancing multi-stakeholder collaboration.
