Tim Florschütz is PDPC’s new Promovendus
As of January 8th, Tim Florschütz started as a PhD candidate at the PDPC, where he will conduct research on innovative infectious disease control, such as source and contact tracing.
At the end of 2023, Tim completed his master’s degree in epidemiology, where for his master’s thesis he researched SARS-CoV-2 outbreaks on mink farms in the Netherlands and the airborne spread of the virus to nearby residents. Here, Tim gained experience in mathematical modeling of infectious diseases, among other things, which is certainly useful for his current doctoral research. Before his master’s degree, Tim completed the bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine and worked for a year as part of the honors program of the master’s degree in veterinary medicine to research a population pharmacokinetic model of gentamicin in newborn foals.
