Junior researcher

My name is Lois van Eck, and I’m connected to the Pandemic and Disaster Preparedness Center (PDPC) and Erasmus MC. I’m involved in the PRESENT project (Work Packages 1 and 4) and the NWO Wetenschapscommunicatie 2025 project. With a background in Biomedical Sciences (BSc) and International Public Health (MSc), I bring both biomedical and public health perspectives to my work. This helps me approach complex problems creatively and analytically, which fits well within the PDPC’s interdisciplinary environment. I’m particularly interested in infectious disease control and mixed methods research, and in the coming years I hope to strengthen these skills to conduct research that informs public policy, especially for vulnerable groups.
