Healthy Start PhD
Jennie is one of our PhD candidates for the Healthy Start initiative ‘Tackling Juvenile Delinquency and Addiction.’ She focuses on identifying unique patterns of substance use, craving, and aggression in the daily lives of multiproblem young adults. Her research also explores how consistent self-monitoring through an Experience Sampling Method (ESM) mobile health survey can help participants gain deeper self-insight into substance-related and antisocial behaviors, as well as the emotions underlying these issues.
By using ESM to collect real-time data, Jennie aims to uncover meaningful insights into the behavioral dynamics of this vulnerable young adult population. She works closely with a multidisciplinary team and is supervised by Reshmi Marhe, Ilse van de Groep, Ingmar Franken, and Willem-Paul Brinkman.
Jennie’s goal of identifying behavioral patterns to inform future interventions that improve the lives of multiproblem young adults is a valuable contribution to Healthy Start’s mission of promoting evidence-based solutions.
