Kick Starters grant program
About the Kick Starter program
The Resilient Delta Kick-Starter Grant offers early career researchers and educators at TU Delft, Erasmus University Rotterdam and Erasmus MC the space to explore new, impact-driven ideas. The program supports transdisciplinary projects that address societal challenges in the Dutch delta region.
The grant is designed for researchers who take societal impact as their starting point and who want to experiment with new forms of research, education and collaboration. A learning-by-doing approach lies at the heart of the program, with strong connections to local contexts and non-academic partners.
More than a grant
The Kick-Starter Grant is more than financial support. It is a community and development pathway for researchers who want to work together on real-world impact in the delta. Participants receive guidance in shaping their ideas, methodologies and routes to impact, while becoming part of a growing Resilient Delta community.
Within this community, there is space for exchange, reflection and cross-pollination between projects. The Kick-Starter helps ideas not only to get started, but also to connect, mature and grow into longer-term collaborations, follow-up research or educational initiatives.
The Team
The Kick Starter is an initiative by RDi’s program manager Jelle Burger, who remains closely involved as a coordinator and first point of contact for Kick Starter researchers. Alongside Jelle, the Kick Starter community is managed by LDE trainee Fréderique Verbeek.
