Project: ‘Shaping creative confidence’
Summary
This proposal investigates how young people develop creative confidence (the belief in one’s ability to act creatively) and how it evolves when they collaborate in community settings. Instead of relying only on surveys, the study observes creativity before, during and after co-design sessions. It examines how the influence of group dynamics, facilitation and the broader socio-cultural environment shape creative confidence. The project delivers two innovative contributions: a novel situated model of creative confidence, showing how it evolves through interaction and context, and actionable insights on how young people can be(come) more creatively confident, resilient and imaginative in expressing their ideas.
