HS Sprint project: ‘Touching Minds’

Bridging Research, Art, and Outreach with 3D-Printed Brain MRIs
Project lead: Ryan Muetzel (EMC)
Partners: TalentHub Rotterdam
Team: Suzanne van de Groep (EUR), Hanan El Marroun (EUR), Toon Huysmans (TUD), Merel Fonteijn (TalentHub Rotterdam)

Summary

Information about the brain is still shared primarily through research articles and textbooks. What if we could bring neuroanatomy closer to curious young minds? Advances in 3D printing now make it possible to create affordable brain models that you can touch and explore. This project will streamline a process to print personalized MRI scans for research volunteers and develop custom brain models for education, making cutting-edge neuroscience more accessible and engaging.
