Project lead: Mariska Wildshut-de Heer (EMC)
Partners: RoboHouse, Erasmus school of Health Policy & Management
Team: Tom Ouwehand (EMC), Iris Wallenburg (EUR), Ties van Bruinessen (TUD)

Summary

Preparing mothers’ milk (i.e. adding nutrients, warming up) is a crucial yet time consuming and recurring task in nursing care. Staff shortages and time pressure may result in human errors in preparing mother milk. Automatization of this routine task will reduce workload and improve patient safety. This research aims to further develop a mother’s milk preparation robot (TU Delft student project) and investigate how this robot could be used in a real-life setting and with what impact on care provision.
