Health & Technology
accelerating the transition to sustainable healthcare
Driving systemic change in healthcare
We work towards a more sustainable and efficient healthcare system. Through research, innovation and education we create solutions with real societal impact — together with our ecosystem.
Impact
Hybrid care reducing hospital pressure
Digital monitoring and home-based care solutions enable patients to receive care outside the hospital. This reduces hospital visits, improves patient outcomes and helps relieve pressure on healthcare systems.
From innovation to standard care in transplantation
New technologies such as machine perfusion are improving organ preservation and increasing transplant success rates. These innovations have been integrated into clinical practice and contribute to better patient outcomes.
Data-driven prevention and early detection
Digital tools and data-driven approaches support early detection of disease and better risk assessment. This enables earlier intervention, reduces disease progression and lowers pressure on healthcare systems.
Programmes | research – innovation – education
10 Flagships
Our Flagship Programs are large-scale, five-year programs that address major healthcare challenges through transdisciplinary collaboration. They bring together a broad network of researchers and partners to build a strong scientific foundation, develop innovative technologies, and advance solutions towards real-world application.
4 Sustainable Health Programs
Our Sustainable Health Programs are four-year programs focused on implementing innovations in healthcare practice, with a strong emphasis on sustainability. They address sustainability in a broad sense — from reducing environmental impact (such as CO₂ and waste) to improving workforce sustainability and ensuring long-term system resilience.
Education
We educate the next generation of professionals who contribute to the development and application of innovations in healthcare. Education is closely connected to our programmes, and reflects their themes, challenges and innovations. The educational activities range from bachelor and master courses or projects and minors to professional education.
