Network meeting ‘Meaningful children’s participation in research’ (in Dutch)
Note: This event is in Dutch.
How to involve children in research in a meaningful way?
Many researchers, teachers and other professionals in Rotterdam and Delft are working on this issue directly and indirectly. Specifically, involving children under 14 in research can come with many different challenges.
In this network event we focus on the regio Rotterdam-Delft where we will start the conversation about child participation in research. What are the best practices? How to deal with the relationship between child and researcher? And how to learn from one another?
Program
The event will be opened by Stans Goudsmit, Children’s ombudsman Rotterdam-Rijnmond, followed by two inspiring workshop rounds. We will end with some informal bites and drinks.
Workshop round 1
Lysanne te Brinke (EUR): “From Theory to Action: Best Practices for Youth Participation.”
Niko Vegt (EUR) and Mathieu Gielen (TU Delft): “How young people can make your research better: a preview of our open online course ‘co-creation with youth’.”
Workshop round 2
Clementine Degener (Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences): “Who owns the research? A mutual exchange on power relations in research with children”.
Szabinka Dudevszky (Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences): “Youngins, critical participatory action-research with youth.”
