During the Champions like you project, we filmed three inspiring videos featuring children with a chronic illness alongside top athletes. After months of hard work, we are excited to share the final result on the big screen. Join us on 23 September 2026 for a special cinema premiere at the Sophia Children’s Hospital, where we will proudly showcase these remarkable stories.

Why these videos?

Athletes can inspire children to be active, confident, and healthy. Research shows that relatable athlete role models encourage physical activity, improve well-being, and help build lifelong healthy habits. For children living with chronic physical or mental conditions, role models can be especially powerful. Athletes who have overcome similar challenges can boost confidence, strengthen self-identity, reduce stigma, and motivate participation in sports and exercise.

Programme

Practical details

The event will be held in the Cinema (Room SP3417) at Sophia Children’s Hospital. Just before the entrance of the Sophia Children’s Hospital, you can take the elevator to the third floor. Go to the right when you leave the elevator. Make a right turn at the ‘Vrienden van Sophia’ offices. At the end of that hallway, you can find the cinema. We will use Healthy Start branding to help you find the way.
