About the TU Delft SIG Mental Health and Tech
Mental health disorders like depression and anxiety are among the leading causes of disability worldwide. Technology has great potential for early diagnosis, treatment, and reducing societal costs. However, new technological capabilities also come with challenges such as ethical issues, data privacy concerns, and the risk of widening health inequities.
With rising demand for mental health care and rapid advances in AI, interdisciplinary collaboration is essential to ensure technology supports mental well-being and reduces the burden on healthcare systems.
The Special Interest Group Mental Health and Tech aims to connect researchers working at the intersection of mental health and technology in technical, medical and social sciences, foster impactful collaborations, and establish a transformative knowledge hub at TU Delft. By bringing together expertise across disciplines, it aims to create technology-driven solutions for mental health challenges.
The Special Interest Group is affiliated with the Delft Institute of Health System Science and kindly sponsored by the TU Delft Delft Design for Values Institute.
