Dr. Anja Schreijer appointed as Co-Chair ACPHE

Dr. Anja Schreijer, Medical Director of the PDPC, has been elected Co-Chair of the ACPHE (Advisory Committee on Public Health Emergencies) at the European Commission. This new interdisciplinary Advisory Committee will support and advise the European Commission and Member States on public health emergencies.

The European Commission has established the Advisory Committee on Public Health Emergencies (ACPHE) in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, to support and advise member states with health crises both before, during and after emergencies. The advisory committee consists of 44 members from different disciplines and backgrounds, to ensure effective and interdisciplinary advice on public health emergencies.

Concerning her appointment, Dr. Schreijer said: “I am grateful that I can take on this role with the committee and advise the European Commission on public health threats and the measures that can be taken to address them.”
